Rod Hunter

Rod Hunter, an internationally-recognized expert in global economic affairs and financial and environmental regulation, served as Special Assistant to President and Senior Director at the National Security Council (NSC) under President George W. Bush. In his role at the NSC, he coordinated the administration's policies on international economics, including trade, finance, investment, energy, and the environment. Prior to joining the NSC, Hunter served as special counsel in the Office of the United States Trade Representative. From 1989 to 2001, Hunter practiced law in Brussels, where he handled European regulatory matters. He also served as Director for Regulatory Studies and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Centre for the New Europe. He received his B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College and his J.D. from the University of Virginia.
